Trump Hit with Brutal Karma After This Backfires In Their Face

Jen Psaki and Don Lemon open the "Welch's Lemonade" segment by diving into the recent controversies surrounding celebrities and politicians, highlighting the uncomfortable truths that emerge when public figures take a stand on contentious issues.

Celebrity Activism and the Israel-Palestine Conflict

The discussion begins with the backlash faced by Ed Sheeran and Macklemore. Ed Sheeran lost 200,000 followers on Instagram, while Macklemore donated a million-dollar tour salary to a pro-Palestinian cause. Following this, Ed Sheeran and Robert Kraft, who previously tried to censor Macklemore's free speech, each donated two million dollars to humanitarian aid. Don Lemon emphasizes the hypocrisy of these actions, stating that Kraft, who claims to believe in peace and has given money to Palestinian people, has a history of silencing voices.

Lemon recounts his personal connection to Colin Kaepernick, having produced a documentary about him and known him personally. He reveals that he tried to broker a conversation between Kraft and Kaepernick during the NFL kneeling controversy, but Kraft was unwilling. Lemon draws a direct parallel between Kraft's past actions against Kaepernick and his current stance on Macklemore, suggesting that Kraft's actions are driven by a desire to protect his interests and power, rather than genuine concern for peace. Psaki agrees, noting that both Kaepernick and Macklemore were targeted for speaking out against perceived injustices.
