What The Digest is

The Digest (iOS app, bundle com.production.ytdigest) turns videos and podcasts from channels you choose into short written articles. It is operated by S7 Ventures ("we").

What we collect

• Reading activity on your device. Which channels you follow, what you've read, playlists, and reading-time stats live on your device and in your device backups. We don't maintain a server-side copy of your reading history.
• Account identifiers, if you sign in. Signing in with Apple, phone, or email creates an account holding only that identifier and the profile you choose to set up (handle, display name). Sign-in is optional and only needed for social features like sending an article to another reader.
• Reactions, comments, and messages you post are stored with your account so other readers can see them.
• Referral activity. If you use a referral code, we record the code redemption and taps on referral links (with browser user-agent) to count referrals.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive receipt confirmation but never your payment details.
• YouTube import, if you connect it. With your permission, we read your YouTube subscription list once to match channels. We don't store your Google credentials; the connection uses Google's OAuth.

What we don't do

• We don't sell personal data.
• We don't show third-party advertising.
• We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Content sources

Article summaries are generated from publicly available videos and podcasts. Channel names, artwork, and thumbnails belong to their creators, and every article links back to the original source.

Service providers

We use Supabase (database and authentication), Apple (payments, push notifications), Twilio (sign-in codes by SMS), and Vercel (websites). Each receives only what it needs to provide its service.

Retention and deletion

Delete the app and the on-device data goes with it. To delete a signed-in account and everything attached to it, use Settings → Account in the app or email us — we'll complete deletion within 30 days.

Children

The Digest isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Terms of Use

Subscriptions are governed by Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA). They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel in your Apple account settings.
