A Troubled Relationship
Andrea Fluker received a call at 4 AM on May 24, 2023, from her mother's fiancé, Nathan Fitten. Andrea didn't like Nathan, nor did she approve of her mother, Lakesha Thompson, being engaged to him. She described their relationship as "hot and cold," and Nathan often tried to stir up drama. He would accuse Lakesha of seeing other men and then involve Andrea as a "middleman." Nathan even told Andrea that he had a ring and was going to propose, but because of Andrea, it wasn't going to happen. Lakesha's four children were not happy about the engagement, which had occurred just three days before this incident. They all felt Nathan was "toxic."
Just a couple of days before Lakesha flew to Atlanta to visit Nathan, Andrea received a call from her sister. Nathan had called Lakesha, threatening to kill himself, and then went silent. Lakesha believed he had taken his own life, but he hadn't. This incident highlights Nathan's manipulative behavior. Andrea's mother was a grown woman, and her children felt helpless to intervene in her relationship choices.
