A Shared Passion for Animals

Emily McLeod, an animal chiropractor, grew up in Northern Alberta with a deep connection to animals. From a young age, she rescued injured wildlife and her family's home was always filled with a diverse array of furry and feathered creatures. This passion for animal welfare led her to a unique career, becoming one of only 1600 animal chiropractors worldwide. Her practice treated a variety of animals, from racehorses to pigs with hip dysplasia, but her true love was for big dogs, particularly Labrador Retrievers.

In 2012, Emily received a call from Betsy Shock, a woman who raised show dogs. Betsy was looking for a chiropractor for her young Cane Corso, a muscular Italian guard dog with an imposing yet gentle nature. Emily, captivated by the breed, immediately connected with Betsy and her dog. Betsy's dedication to her show dogs was profound; they were more than just pets, they were a passion project. Her ultimate goal was to become an AKC (American Kennel Club) judge, a position that required her dogs to achieve championship status through extensive showing. This often meant sending her dogs away with handlers for weekends, a sacrifice Betsy found difficult.
